I am
the way
Jesus said He was the way and light unto the world, what did He mean, what was
He teaching?
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him,
I
am
the
way,
the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I
am
the
way
This quote only appears once in the Bible and is one of the most quotes verse
aside from John 3:16 or 15.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life.
So now one believes this and comes to Jesus and asks, Good master, what must I
do?
What does He say?
Matthew 19:17
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good
but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life,
keep the commandments.
John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn
the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
So Jesus came not to condemn the world, but His
light
shown on the
light
which condemned the world.
John 3:19
And this is the condemnation, that
light
is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than
light,
because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the
light,
neither cometh to the
light,
lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the

Now what does the Word say that
light
is..
Proverbs 6:23
For the
commandment
is a
lamp;
and the
law
is
light;
and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
{lamp: or, candle}
Isaiah 8:20
To the
law
and to the
testimony:
if they speak
not according to this word,
it is because there is no
light
in them.
Isaiah 51:4
Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a
law
shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a
light
of the people.
Romans 7:14
For we know that the
law

The
LORD shall
establish thee an holy people
unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt

commandments
of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
So if the Lord is establishing a holy people unto himself and one wants to be a
part of that people, then you need to come to the
light.
You must keep the commandments.
Ephesians 5:8
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye
light
in the Lord: walk as children of
light:
Ephesians 5:13
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the
light:
for whatsoever doth make manifest is
light.
Ephesians 5:14
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead,
and Christ shall give thee
light.
Christ shall give thee
light?
How? Here is the
light:

It is interesting that so many say the Jesus is
THE LIGHT
but He really says He came
a light
into the world.

All that Jesus taught was the Spiritual side of the commandments,

Jesus then said that we must be Born Again. First we must come to the
light
and then we must be born again.

said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man
can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the
kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man
be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and
be born?

unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot
enter into the kingdom of God.
Romans 7:14

We must die to our old self and old ways, be must arise to a new life of
obedience.

We must allow him to write His Law upon our hearts and minds.
Jeremiah 31:33
